Responding to a CPI -A CISM Perspective

Learning the basics and the mechanics of crisis intervention is an important skill, but knowing how to best use these skills in responding to a crisis is equally important. This class will give you perspectives in assisting those colleagues who have just gone through a critical incident while also considering the responsibilities and concerns of the investigators.

• We will discuss crisis intervention in response to a critical police incident

• We will look at ways in which we can align ourselves with those responsible for investigating these incidents

• We will look at a crisis interventionist’s role in assisting those individuals involved

• We will have a discussion concerning alternate ways in dealing with other difficult situations within the crisis response continuum.
